KRAZ (93.7 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station in San Antonio, Texas. The station is owned by Uforia Audio Network and broadcasts a Spanish Top 40 format, utilizing the brand "Mega 93.7".

History[]

Early Days[]

In 1985, KRAZ signed on the air as "KBOK 93.7", with a Country Music format.

Simulcast with KXJM[]

In 1993, KBOK and 600 KTRS began simulcasting with Urban Contemporary station KXJM 92.3 (though not the current KXJM in Phoenix). KBOK has continued to simulcast with 92.3 ever since. The station would play Smooth Jazz on Sundays.

On March 8, 1994, the simulcast flipped to full-time Smooth Jazz, known as "Smooth FM 92.3 and 93.7".

Kiss 92.3 and Kiss Again 93.7[]

On February 24, 1995, after stunting with a loop of the song "Kiss" by Prince, the format changed to Rhythmic Top 40 as "Kiss 92.3 and Kiss Again 93.7", targeting the Hispanic teenage market playing heavy doses of Freestyle and House music, mimicking the style of Rumba 97FM in Miami. KXJM's callsign was changed to KHYS a month later. In June 1998, the "Kiss" format was changed to compete rival "97.5 KXFM", by playing Mainstream Top 40.

Simulcast with KXIM, and "Party 93.7" era[]

In 2001, KHYS was sold to RB Media. KBOK changed its call sign to KKSA and began simulcasting Hot AC sister KXIM. The simulcast would last until 2003, as KKSA flipped to Rhythmic Contemporary as "Party 93.7", taking a head-to-head competition with KKPR.

La Raza 93.7[]

In October 2006, Clear Channel sold the station to Los Angeles-based Liberman Broadcasting, who then flip KKSA to a Regional Mexican format and its "La Raza" brand. The call sign was then changed to the current KRAZ.

In 2010, the station was acquired by Bahakel Communications.

Mega 93.7[]

In January 2019, Bahakel announced the sale of KRAZ and KXOS to Cumulus Media. It was completed on February 28. On March 22, Cumulus dropped the station's format in favor for Spanish CHR to compete with KVVA. KRAZ became "Mega 93.7".

On July 15, 2019, Cumulus announced the sale of KRAZ to Uforia Audio Network. On the 22nd, both companies entered a Local Marketing Agreement, under the temporary name "KRAZ Inc." The FCC approved the sale on August 20, and KRAZ was consummated later that day.
